The world’s largest family film festival, “In the Family Circle,” attracted more than 10,000 spectators and turned Yaroslavl into the family film capital of the world. The festival was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, the Yaroslavl City Hall, the Rostec State Corporation and personally Sergei Chemezov, General Director of the Rostec State Corporation, co-chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Program “In the Family Circle”.
This year, the geography of the festival’s film competitions expanded to all five continents, and viewers watched 76 short and feature films from 39 countries, represented by filmmakers from Russia, Turkey, South Korea, the USA, Peru, Colombia, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, China, Iraq, Iran, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Tunisia and even Australia. Funny and philosophical, ironic and sad, comedies and dramas – different in genre and issues – they were all about family, about how modern parents, children and families live in different countries.
10 The results of the festival were summed up, representatives of the international jury announced the nominees.
In 2024, participants and guests of the festival received from Russian President Vladimir Putin, a telegram published on the Kremlin website and read out at the Opening Ceremony. The President of Russia expressed confidence that in the Year of the Family the festival will be a success, will attract increased attention from specialists and the general public, and will be remembered for its interesting premieres and hospitable, warm atmosphere.
The festival events were also broadcast on the Russian social network Odnoklassniki. The total viewing of the broadcasts received more than 2.5 million views.
Guests and spectators were greeted by: Fedor Dobronravov, Nonna Grishaeva, Alexander Samoilenko, Denis Nikiforov, Vladimir Sychev, Irina Medvedeva, Artur Sopelnik, Alexey Demidov, large families and bloggers. At the finale of the Ceremony, the “opening film” of the festival, the Chinese comedy drama “Art Lesson,” was shown. Producers Ting Wang, Pan Liu, Lu Wang came to present the film.
